CATALYST

Catalyst was set up by Tavistock Area Churches Together. It is a local charity which exists to share the Good News of Christianity by offering a positive witness of Jesus, allowing young people to discover how being a Christian can have a real effect on daily life, and providing opportunities for a response. Catalyst also exists to support Christian young people within their school environment where, regardless of belief and background, they can feel safe, encouraged and cared for.

Our present youth worker is Alex Ewing, who moved, in October 2010 from Manchester. He has been well received and thoroughly enjoys the job. "I'm being employed by the churches and working with different young people across the area, focusing on serving, reaching out and getting them involved in different activities . . . the students are really lovely and there's a real sense of community here."

Financial support comes entirely from local churches and individual Christians who give regularly. We are extremely grateful for all this support; however, in order for this important work to continue in the schools and the local community, we do need to see giving increased.  If you can support Catalyst then please download this standing order form.
