At a meeting in St Leonard's the Friends were set up on Saturday 29 May 2010.
The meeting was attended by 36 people who were invited to agree to the formation of a secular society, agree its constitution and appoint a committee. The meeting was addressed by Tim MacDonald (click here) and after discussion it was unanimously agreed to form the society and a committee of six was appointed.
